In “Bladerunner,” the Replicants were so humanlike that you could not discern otherwise from their appearance. We still haven’t gotten to the point where robots can pass for human, but Diego-san shows that we are working towards it, and getting closer. Dedigned to aid in the study of cognitive and social development in infants, Diego is modeled after a one-year-old baby. The highly expressive face, contains 18 servos, and was designed by Hanson Robotics. The body was built by Kokoro… I don’t think we’re out of the Valley yet, if you know what I mean.
